By CN!

beauty.jpgCosmetic clay is a mineral that absorbs contaminants such as excess sebum or skin metabolism products. Why? Because the negative charge contained in it attracts positively charged toxic substances. Cosmetic clay is a wealth of micro and macro elements in an easily absorbable form. There are so many types of clay that you can match to any type of complexion. If you were wondering what clay to choose and how to use it, read the following article. Discover the power of cosmetic clays, their types and properties.

Which clay to choose?

The best cosmetics clays are active at 95-98%. In addition, the clay we buy should not contain fragrances, anti-caking agents, emulsifiers and other chemicals that reduce its natural effectiveness. The colour of the clay is equally important – each variation of this mineral has different properties.

How to use cosmetic clay?

Powdered clay should be dispersed in water and applied to the face as a mask; if you have dry complexion, you can add olive oil or egg yolk to it. Wash down the clay mask with a natural sponge or cotton cloth soaked in lukewarm water. The clay can also be used topically for eczema and inflammation. This mineral is also suitable for washing face, teeth and hair and as an addition to your bubble bath.

Cosmetic Clay – types and properties

  • Green clay is best suited for the care of oily, combination and acne skin as well as for people dealing with eczema or psoriasis. Its main tasks include disinfecting, cleansing and regenerating. Thanks to its antiseptic properties, green clay inhibits the multiplication of bacteria, and thanks to its astringent properties, it delays the appearance of wrinkles.
  • Red clay absorbs sebum and impurities, which is why it is perfect for oily skin. Because it works milder than green clay, it can be used by women with sensitive and capillary skin. Red clay seals and constricts blood vessels and prevents their dilation, and also helps in the treatment of rosacea.
  • White clay is the most popular variety of cosmetic clay. It has astringent, nourishing and regenerating properties, which is why it works best in the care of dry, delicate, sensitive and mature skin. It has a soothing effect, so it improves the skin tone. White clay is so mild that it is even used in baby powders.

There is also yellow, pink, blue, ghassoul, “Fullers Earth” clay and a Canadian glacial clay.
