Hydrolats in skin care. Which ones to choose and what are their effect?

WHAT ARE HYDROLATS?

Hydrolats are nothing else but floral water or distillates. They form as a by-product of the distillation of essential oils derived from plants. This process is carried out with the use of water vapour and subjected various parts of plants (leaves, flowers). Hydrolates are therefore water containing dissolved parts of plants and a small percentage of essential oils. It is thanks to them that hydrolases have such a good effect.

THE ADVANTAGES OF HYDROLATS

They have a subtle scent, are very friendly to the sense of smell and the whole organism. The pH of these substances is close to the pH of the skin. Hydrolates cannot cause irritation, they are ideal for removing makeup, as an addition to clay (to dissolve them) and washing your face during the day. They are intended for all skin types, regardless of age. Hydrolates can soothe irritations, have antibacterial effect, strengthen the walls of blood vessels, soothe reddened skin.

TYPES OF HYDROLATS

Rose hydrolat

You certainly know its scent and you could use it all the time. The rose hydrolat contains, among others, flavonoids and organic acids. The product moisturizes, tones and tightens the epidermis. It is perfect for the care of mature, dry and vascular skin. The rose hydrolate relaxes and soothes. It works not only on the skin, but also on emotions and the mind.

Lavender hydrolat 

It is recommended for the care of all skin types, including the scalp. Also, it is perfect for shaving or depilation. It has antiseptic, soothing and anti-acne effect. It has a purifying effect and can be used as an air freshener.

Lemon hydrolat

It tones, refreshes and brightens the skin. Lemon hydrolat is intended for the care of combination and oily skin. It contains a small amount of vitamin C and flavonoids that protect against harmful external factors. Lemon hydrolat has antioxidant, sealing, soothing and strengthening properties.

Chamomile hydrolat

It is recommended for all skin types. Chamomile hydrolate soothes irritations, refreshes and moisturizes slightly. It is ideal for inhalation and treatment of the airways. If sprayed on the pillow makes it makes breathing and falling asleep easier. The best results are noticed when you are tired and overworked.
