best-curly-hair-care-routine.jpgCurly hair has an uneven structure. Its cuticle scales tend to raise, therefore curls need an intensified care. Moreover, they easily lose moisture and don’t reflect the sunlight so they’re usually dull, brittle and prone to frizz and damage. To prevent this, you must choose the right products and treatments for curls, answering their needs. How to care for curly hair?

Products for Curly Hair

To make curls look healthy and manageable, you must use moisturising and nourishing products that are lightweight and mild. Curly hair is naturally dry so you can’t pick dehydrating alcohol-infused cosmetics.

  • Shampoos for Curly Hair
A shampoo for curls must gently purify the scalp and hair, removing impurities and not weighing down. A good shampoo prevents frizz and adds bounce. A shampoo for curly hair should contain a bamboo extract, proteins and vegetable oils. Polysaccharides, included in the bamboo extract, tame flyaways and define the curl. Proteins (e.g. keratin, silk, elastin) deliver an intensive hydration. Vegetable oils protect against free radicals. If a shampoo is infused with algae and fennel, your hair will be smooth, too.
  • Other Products for Curly Hair
Some cosmetics for curls contain silicones which create a protective coat on the hair surface, locking water in, protecting from damage, increasing shine and defining the curls. Silicones in beauty products may be damaging so choose the light ones that are easily washed off with water and mild shampoos.

How to wash & comb curly hair?

Curly hair is exposed to damage so you must wash it gently and with a proper shampoo. Curls need cool water for the final rinse and a gentle towel-drying afterwards. A leave-in conditioner will add some bounce. You need a wide-tooth comb which is made from wood thus is anti-static.
