How to take care of colour-treated hair?

By CN!

beauty.jpgDo you think that when you dye your hair, you’ll look nicer? Maybe you will, but only if you properly care for the highlights after colouring. Provide them with the right cosmetics, treatments and care, and your hairstyle will surely delight everyone around you.

Start with proper colour-treating

Interestingly, hair care should start at the level of dyeing. The safest way is to go to an experienced hairdresser and to a salon where only high-quality cosmetics are used. Before the surgery, it is worth running an allergic test that will eliminate the risk of irritation, redness of the skin and swelling on the face. For people with a sensitive scalp, dyes should not contain ammonia, hydrogen peroxide and other irritating substances. Unfortunately, for most products, they are necessary to prepare hair to absorb dyes. Their operation consists in parting hair scales. At the same time, water is lost, and as a result, the strands become dull, weak and fragile. To prevent this, cosmetics designed for dyed hair are used.

Shampoo, conditioner and mask

The task of these cosmetics is to enhance the colour of the hair and prevent it from fading. Therefore, go for a product that will moisturise the strands that were weakened due to overprocessing. Shampoos, masks, conditioners dedicated to colour-treated hair additionally, contain ingredients that will nourish, strengthen and protect the hair. In this case, products that are to be applied before washing will work best as they will protect the hair from harmful substances contained in shampoos.

Hot styling

Blow-drying, straightening and curling can be very damaging to colour-treated hair. Under the influence of high temperature, water and keratin are lost, the strands become dry and dull, and the ends start splitting. If you want your hair to retain the nice colour and natural glow, give up hot styling. However, if you cannot do this, apply a thermoprotective cosmetic before using the hair straightener, hair dryer or a curling iron.

Supplementation

The condition of dyed hair will also be improved by dietary supplements with vitamins and minerals. What’s more, nails and skin will look nicer thanks to this supplementation. When choosing the right preparation, pay attention to the content of biotin, zinc and extract from nettle and horsetail. The only downside to supplementation is the long waiting period for effects – it is about two or three months.
