Winter Skin Care Routine
Should the winter skincare routine be different from the one we have during summertime. For many reasons, yes. During winter, our skin can be dried out due to spending a lot of time in heated buildings. Very rarely the interior we enter have the desired level of humidity. What’s more, our skin can be cracked due to the high temperature difference between outdoors and indoors. Firstly, we are exposed to dry air and then the temperature can drop dramatically when we go out to take the fresh air.
It often happens that the skin cracks and get cold burn. Our skin care routine should be all about moisturizing and protecting the skin from cold. You may consider purchasing humidifier as it can greatly help your dry skin. It is great to use it during night when you sleep. It makes the room warm and cosy, but more importantly, it moisturizes your skin making it soft and elastic when you wake up in the morning. You can get a basic vaporizer in any beauty shop for no more than £20, which is a reasonable price. It is important that you always prepare the skin by exfoliating all the dead skin cells. Use the scrub once every fortnight.
You can also use the cleansing mask or a micellar water to remove all make-up traces, sebum, and impurities. Once your skin is dry, apply a moisturizer that has a small amount of water in its formula. Put a second layer of the cream on areas of your face that get dry very quickly. Wait 10 min until it is absorbed. Press the paper tissue against your skin to remove all the excess product. It is very important that your cream has high SPF. Winter Sun may be very damaging. If you do not have the cream with SPF, use the foundation rich in sun protectant. Especially during winter, wear a thin layer of lip balm to protect your lips from chapping.
Make sure that it is low in water and high in organic essential oils. You will not have any problems with finding the right product. Nowadays, you can get lip balm in any scent and consistency. If you do not have a lip balm handy, simply rub a small amount of honey or olive oil into your lips for maximum protection.
